October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Okay, okay...I know I'm super late with this as October is almost over and I know I'm super lame since I promised more frequent posting, and it's been a month since I have done anything. Anyway, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! YAY! Feel your boobies! Save the tatas! As someone who has had a family member suffer from breast cancer, this is very important to me. My grandma on my mom's side had a mastectomy a few years ago and went through a round of chemotherapy and I'm glad to report that she is cancer free! So in honor of her, and her struggle - I will be doing my first 5k at the end of this month! I might not be able to run the whole thing...and will probably die doing it - but I'm super excited to do something this month as a tribute to her.

Since PINK is the color for breast cancer awareness, I decided to do my nails in this hot pink color I received as a freebie in a blog sale purchase the other day. It's called Fire from L.A. Colors. I usually don't wear loud colors. Most of my nail polishes are various shades of red and neutral blush pinks. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this color. I've always been an OPI girl but, unfortunately I haven't found them on island to purchase and for some reason nail polish isn't allowed to be shipped internationally (at least that's what MAC says)...but since I received this one in the mail - I guess there are ways around that ;) And hell, free is free! The polish is actually pretty sheer and I had to put on three coats to make it this vibrant but it was totally worth it! These were taken inside, with the flash on...and I would give you pics of it in natural light but it is presently raining and 5:39PM...no natural light to be seen here! Bear with me, my nails are still growing and healing from the acrylics I had on last month!

I actually really love this polish and while waiting for this to dry, I looked up the other colors in their line and they have quite a few that I want now! At $1.50-$2 a piece on CherryCulture.com - I really HOPE that they can ship them here! What do y'all think?
